From a Ball of Yarn to Nordstrom Snuggle Co.: How It All Began 🧶💕

Every stitch has a story, and this is mine.

If you had told me at the beginning of 2026 that I’d be running my very own crochet business, I probably would have laughed! But sometimes the best things in life start with a little curiosity, a whole lot of determination, and a ball of yarn.

Where It All Started 🧶

In January 2026, I picked up a crochet hook and decided to teach myself how to crochet. No fancy classes, no years of experience — just me, some yarn, and the determination to figure it out!

What started as a new hobby quickly turned into something I absolutely fell in love with.

I discovered the world of crocheted plushies, also known as amigurumi, and I was hooked (pun absolutely intended!).

There was something so rewarding about taking a simple strand of yarn and transforming it into an adorable little creature with its own personality. Every project taught me something new, and with every finished plushie, I found myself dreaming up what I wanted to make next.

Turning a Hobby Into a Business 💕

By March 2026, just two months after learning my very first stitches, I decided to take a leap of faith and open my very own online storefront: Nordstrom Snuggle Co.

What started as making cute things for fun became an opportunity to share those creations with others.

I wanted to create a place where people could find handmade plushies that were more than just stuffed animals. I wanted them to be little bundles of happiness — something that could make someone smile, brighten their day, or become a treasured gift.

And just like that, Nordstrom Snuggle Co. was born!

A Little Bit of Everything, Made With Love 🧸

One of my favorite things about having my own crochet business is the freedom to create!

Some days, I find an adorable pattern and immediately think, I HAVE to make that! Other days, I’m bringing someone else’s vision to life through a custom order.

And honestly? I love both!

Custom orders hold a special place in my heart. There’s something incredibly rewarding about creating a plushie specifically for someone, whether it’s a thoughtful gift, a favorite animal, or something completely unique.

But I also love letting my creativity run wild. If it’s cute, quirky, cuddly, or just makes me smile, there’s a pretty good chance it’s going to end up on my crochet hook!

That’s the beauty of Nordstrom Snuggle Co. There isn’t just one type of plushie here. It’s a growing collection of whatever brings a little extra joy into the world.

Where We Are Today ✨

Looking back, it’s hard to believe how much has happened since January.

In less than a year, I’ve gone from teaching myself the basics of crochet to opening a storefront, taking custom orders, and building a community of people who share my love for all things handmade.

And one of the most exciting parts of this journey has been sharing it with others on TikTok!

Through my crochet videos, live streams, and journey toward growing our Crochet Crew to 10,000 followers, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with people who encourage my creativity and make this experience even more special.

What began as a hobby has grown into a business, a creative outlet, and a community that I’m so grateful for.

And the best part? I feel like I’m just getting started.
